Currently everyone knows the full form of IPL in English, yet we should study its historical development. Lalit Modi introduced the concept of IPL while serving as BCCI Vice President in 2007. During 2008 IPL started its inaugural season by adopting the T20 format through franchise ownership, which was modeled after international sports leagues. The league established itself as a worldwide phenomenon that attracted a large number of spectators as well as top cricketers. IPL has expanded over the years by introducing auction events and strategic breaks while developing new sports talent, which has made it a leading global cricket tournament.
